We are off again!
Over the last two weeks, we’ve had adventure after adventure with Madelyn. Madelyn has been in South America, getting ready for one of her races, so her dream time is the same as Justin’s and Charlie’s.
So day after day (I mean our days, not their days), when Justin appears, we get ready and head off to meet Madelyn on top of her Shroom. Then we decide where we should have our adventure: in Justin’s dream or in Madelyn’s.
Once we pick a dream, Justin creates an adventure for Joy, Charlie, Madelyn and himself. He has gotten much better at creating adventures that are both interesting and fun and not potentially harmful to Joy.
So off we go! Charlie, who now regularly appears on Bonnie’s Revenge, goes first with Joy. Then Justin, then Master Mind, then me.
We come out of the tunnel, to stand on the Shroom, all fully armed and jetpacked. I remain in the opening of the tunnel, since there is not a lot of room on the little Shroom.
I duck a bit as a fairy fly flies near my face, heading up. There’s hundreds of fairy flies now, all resting on a regular basis all around the stem atop the tunnels. They’ve made Justin’s dream their home.
Now Madelyn’s dream is above us and to the side.
“Ready to go?” Justin looks at Joy and presses the button.
“You are not going without me!” a familiar female voice says behind me.
I turn around and take a step back and unto the shroom in complete surprise.
It is Madelyn, floating on her super wheelchair.
Justin lands back on the Shroom surface, equally surprised. “Madelyn! How did you get in without us seeing you?”
Even as he asks it the answer is simple: If she got in through the tunnel on the other side of the stem while we were going down this one, we would never have noticed her.
She shakes her head. “I do not understand, Justin. I fell asleep in the hotel, and woke up on Bonnie’s Revenge and not in my dream!”
“What!” Charlie opens his mouth wide.
A huge smile appears on Joy’s face. “Ha ha!” she raises her hands in victory and begins to sing: ”Madelyn appeared on Bonnie’s Revenge! Madelyn appeared on Bonnie’s Revenge!”
Justin looks at Joy and at Madelyn. “Whoa,” he says. He knows what that means. His little dream is getting more and more crowded.
