#230: The Quest, Part 2

Dragon Father flew off in Bonny’s Revenge, the pirate ship that served as his and his daughter’s home in his dream.

Just a few moments ago he had left his four-year-old daughter, which I lovingly call Dragon Little, on a small archipelago in the middle of an ocean, as he set off on a quest.

Another moment of flight, and his hands began to twitch and his leg bounced nervously. I am assuming it was because he was far from Dragon Little.

The two had been separated before during an adventure, but they had never really been far apart during one.

Another moment, and Dragon Father sighed and turned the ship around.

He turned in the air and flew back.

Soon he flew over the archipelago.

He bent over the railing to look down as she yelled at him, “Dad! What the hell are you doing back?”

He laughed, then shouted back, “I thought maybe you changed your mind!”

“I hate quests! Go! Stop coming back!”

“Are you sure?”

“Get out of here!”

“Joy, are you sure? It’s going to take a long time!”

“Go!”

He looked down at her, lips pursed. “Okay,” he shouted back. “I’m going!”

“Bye,” she waved at him dismissively and turned around.

He laughed again, straightened, sighed, then returned to the helm.

Bonny’s Revenge flew away. This time, he did not turn back.
