#293: The Tooth Fairy, Part 2: Bounce Her!

Dragon Little was already giggling without being able to stop when a clothes rack was brought in for the Tooth Fairy.

I have never seen Dragon Little laugh so much and never seen her unable to stop herself from laughing for so long.

The Tooth Fairy was short and loud and oblivious to the fact that Dragon Little was laughing.

“All right,” she shouted in what was probably her soft voice. “Gotta prepare you for battle. There’s gonna be a lot of bumpiness in this adventure so we need you well-padded.”

Dragon Little nodded, even though I believe she did not understand what the Tooth Fairy meant.

“Let’s dress her up as a CUBE!” The Tooth Fairy boomed.

Immediately, small fairies brought parts of a giant cloth cube and smashed it into her from all sides. All of the sudden, Dragon Little was inside a huge cloth cube with only her head and her hands coming out of the cube. One last fairy came in from above and put on and strapped a big helmet on Dragon Little’s head.

“Let’s see how she BOUNCES!”

Dragon Little squeaked, “Nooooo!” then laughed harder.

The small but powerful Tooth Fairy grabbed the cube, flew up a meter or so into the air with her wings, and tried to bounce Dragon Little.

Dragon Little laughed and laughed.

“Do you think it’s working?” The Tooth Fairy looked at Dragon Father who was standing to the side, looking happy and amused.

He shook his head. “Cubes don’t bounce well,” he said. “You need something else.”

“Let’s put her inside a FOOTBALL!” The Tooth Fairy hollered again.

Once more, fairies appeared from all sides. Within an instant, Dragon Little was de-cubed and suddenly looked like a big foam banana.

Dragon Little snickered relentlessly. “This is not a ball!” she squealed. I agreed. I do not know exactly what a football is if not a round ball.

“BOUNCE HER!” roared the Tooth Fairy.

“Aaaaah nooooo!”

The small fairies raised her and dropped her again. “Aaaaah!” This time she bounced sideways and around, then sideways again. “Aaaaaah!”

“Terrible,” the Tooth Fairy looked at Dragon Father.

“Terrible,” Dragon Father agreed. “Try a soccer ball. Round.”

“Round it is. DRESS HER!”

The fairies came in as Dragon Little squeaked more. “Dad, what’s she doing?” she managed in between the giggles.

“We’re preparing for the big adventure. Be patient.”

By now she was dressed inside a big round foam ball.

“BOUNCE HER NOW!”

The fairies bounced Dragon Little and now she bounced back to the height from which she was dropped, screamed in joy, bounced again, screamed in joy again, and so on.

“She’s ready!” the Tooth Fairy raised her hands. “ROLL HER TO THE ADVENTURE!”

“Dad, what’s happening?”

“You have to do this adventure alone,” Dragon Father told her as she was rolled sideways. “But I’ll be watching.”

“Ready, little pirate?” the Tooth Fairy asked.

“For what?”

“She’s ready. ROLL HER!”

And suddenly they were standing at the edge of a long incline that led more than a kilometer down.

“Roll me wheeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaa--” she began but ended up screaming as she was rolled down the incline, and spun around herself.

Tomorrow I will tell you of the adventure she had. For now, I must rest and enjoy the memories of her joy.
