#253: Funny Joy

Dragon Little’s laugh is infectious. It is a laugh that makes you want to laugh.

Every time I hear her laugh from my hiding place, I do my best to suppress the laughter that comes out of me. A laughing dragon is not… something that should be viewed.

This is a day I had to hold in my laugh many times.

It began soon after Dragon Father appeared on the deck of Bonny’s Revenge and woke up his daughter.

3-year-old Dragon Little stumbled out of the cabin, half asleep, eyes half open, and bumped into the mast. She fell back in surprise, but clearly not in pain.

Dragon Father laughed. Dragon Little laughed as well. She tried it again, this time on purpose, and fell back.

Dragon Father laughed and Dragon Little laughed her rolling laughter.

Dragon Little did this twenty more times before they set sail for adventure.

During the adventure, Dragon Little, her little sword drawn, would bump into things endless times and fall backwards.

During the showdown in which Macarony the Knife was about to kill Dragon Father and Dragon Little with laser knives, Dragon Little kept bumping into walls. She laughed, Dragon Father laughed, and even Macarony the Knife laughed.

As the villain laughed, Dragon Father disarmed him and apprehended him.

Once more on the deck of Bonny’s Revenge, It was, as usual, Dragon Little’s job to lead the shackled villain into The Infinite Prisoner in the depths of the ship.

She led him down the stairs and away from my sight.

As my sharp dragon ears heard their footsteps growing softer and softer, I heard a loud CLANG of steel. “Doi!” Dragon Little said. Another CLANG! “Doi!” And more and more: “Doi! Doi! Doi! Doi!”

Dragon Little was bumping into every occupied cell in the belly of the ship as she led the villain to his.

This time, even though she did not laugh, nor did the villains, I had to fight myself more than I ever have, to keep from laughing.
