#334: Bored, Part 1

Dragon Little woke up in a strange mood one day, nearing her sixth birthday.

Dragon Father appeared on the deck of Bonny’s Revenge and Dragon Little was already awake, lying on the plank, staring at the moon hanging high in the sky.

“Oh, you’re up!” Justin had arrived in a good mood. “Whatcher doing?”

“Noooooooothing,” she said very slowly.

Justin looked at her for a second, considered something, then said. “Okay. Shall we eat breakfast and get started?”

“Noooooooooo,” she said slowly again.

“You’re not hungry?”

“I’m bored.”

“Too bored to eat?”

“Yes.”

He considered something again then shrugged. “Okay. Well, today you choose which adventure we go on. There’s so much happening! Do you want to go to Laser Planet?”

“Boooooooring!”

He made a face. “Okay. Want to fight some witches? You always like fighting witches!”

“Ptthhhhhh!”

“A giant snake?”

“Boring!”

“An evil king?”

“Blah!”

Dragon Father was getting impatient. “Anything? Is there anything you want to do?”

“Everything’s boooooring!”

Dragon Father made a face again. He seemed angered and insulted.

He turned around and walked to the opposite side of the deck. He breathed in a few times, trying to contain his anger.

But that did not work. And what happened next had never happened in all the time I had been with them.

Tomorrow I will tell you what happened next.
